Thais Suguiyama is a visual artist and motion designer based in São Paulo, Brazil. She holds a degree in Visual Arts from the School of Communication and Arts at the University of São Paulo (ECA-USP). Her practice develops at the intersection of visual arts, graphic design, and animation, expanding across different fields and contexts.
Her work has developed from the appropriation of images, reconfiguring their visual language by combining printed, graphic, and industrial materials applied to constructed supports, incorporating found materials and graphic references from urban landscapes. More recently, her investigations with objects and animation have focused on the intersection between the animate and the inanimate, as well as the creation of scenarios and narratives.
Among the exhibitions she participated in are BARATAS at Galeria Ponto de Fuga (PN), Revés and Blecaute at the Cratera arts and culture space (SP) in 2022 and 2023, respectively; Campina Brutal at Massapê Projetos (SP) in 2024; A volta ao dia em 80 mundos at Caroço Projeto (SP) in 2024; Cripta at Galeria Vermelho (SP) in 2019; Nostalgia de Izquierda at Galeria Saenger (CDMX - MX) in 2023, and V Bienal del Sur (CCS - Venezuela) in 2023, the last three with the group Depois do Fim da Arte (Following the End of Art).
